This Intro to Tai Chi class is for Tai Chi beginners and practitioners who want to revisit Tai Chi fundament energies and principles. This class will teach you the Ba Fa Wu Bu (Eight Energies Five Directions) form. Register for this class if you are joining us in person. The Ba Fa Wu Bu form is a contemporary form with elements from three different Tai Chi styles: Yang, Chen and Sun, making it a wonderful introduction to the wide ranging world of Tai Chi. We will explore the 8 energies of Tai Chi present in all styles: Peng (outward expansion), Lu (roll back), Ji (press), An (push), Cai (pluck), Lie (split), Zhou (elbow), Kao (shoulder). These 8 energies are then paired with one of 5 directions: forward, backward, left, right, and center.
