Workshop Overview
On June 9, Damian Neve gave us Part 1 of his Enhancing Tai Chi Through Correct Alignment, Structure and Strength Conditioning workshop. He covered the following topics:
- How to corrected identify what should be measured straight in the feet and 3 pillars
- Looking at the body in terms of sacred geometry
- How to correctly align neutral spine for Zhong Ding Central Equilibrium
- Where to breathe into so the body isn't compressed
- Identifying the body's striking surfaces and how to align them correctly for martial application and for internal structure
- The five steps of power
- Alignment checklist: foot, knee, hips, shoulders, elbows, head
- Reducing movements to two points: preparation and attack

Damian will give Part 2 of his workshop on Sunday June 23 1PM - 3PM EST. In this community workshop, Shifu Shirley will decode the concepts Damian went over in the Part 1 workshop for anyone who wants to review them or have questions about them. If you have questions about the concepts Damian went over but felt intimidated or embarrassed to ask them, this is the place to be because we will take it slow and explore the concepts in a way you can feel in your own body.
You do not need to have attended Damian's workshop to understand what we go over in this one. These concepts will help everyone's Tai Chi regardless of style or lineage.
