Yang Style Tai Chi forms are slow paced and even, often thought of as moving meditation. Yang Style Tai Chi is the most popular Tai Chi style practiced around the world. Register for this class if you are joining us in person. The online class has a different registration which will include the Zoom link.

This class will begin with will all levels doing warm ups, standing meditation and basic movements review.

Beginning students will then get individualized attention to learn the fundamentals and basic movements of Yang Style Tai Chi, taught by our experienced assistant instructors.

Intermediate students will work on either the Ping Gate of Life 10 Form or the 24 Form. The Ping Gate of Life 10 Form is the first form we teach students after they demonstrate proficiency in Tai Chi basic movements.  This form was created by Grandmaster Aiping Cheng linking together 10 Yang Style Tai Chi movements in a symmetrical form with each movement done once on each side.

The 24 Form is the most popular Tai Chi form practiced around the world. It was created in 1956, simplifying the traditional Yang 108 Long Form, thus facilitating the spread of Tai Chi practice worldwide. The committee that created the 24 Form was led by Li Tianji who was Grandmaster Aiping Cheng's main Tai Chi teacher and one of the 4 Yang Style Tai Chi masters on the committee was Fu Zhongwen who was Grandmaster Cheng's teacher of traditional Yang Style Tai Chi.
